PROPOSED REGULATORY TEXT

Notice is given that the Governor in Council, pursuant to paragraph 49.91(1)(a) (see footnote a) of the Customs Tariff (see footnote b), proposes to make the annexed Order Amending the Schedule to the Customs Tariff (Extension of the Canada-European Union Tariff).

Interested persons may make representations concerning the proposed Order within 15 days after the date of publication of this notice. All such representations must cite the Canada Gazette, Part I, and the date of publication of this notice, and be addressed to Brad Norwood, International Trade Policy Division, Department of Finance, 90 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0G5 (email: fin.tariff-tarif.fin@canada.ca).

Order Amending the Schedule to the Customs Tariff (Extension of the Canada-European Union Tariff)

Amendment

1 The List of Countries and Applicable Tariff Treatments set out in the schedule to the Customs Tariff (see footnote 1) is amended by adding, in the column “Other”, a reference to “CEUT” opposite the references in the column “Country Name” to “Andorra”, “Austria”, “Belgium”, “Bulgaria”, “Canary Islands”, “Ceuta and Melilla”, “Channel Islands”, “Croatia”, “Cyprus”, “Czech Republic”, “Denmark”, “Estonia”, “Finland”, “France”, “French Guiana”, “Germany”, “Gibraltar”, “Greece”, “Guadeloupe”, “Hungary”, “Ireland”, “Isle of Man”, “Italy”, “Latvia”, “Lithuania”, “Luxembourg”, “Malta”, “Martinique”, “Mayotte”, “Monaco”, “Netherlands”, “Poland”, “Portugal”, “Réunion”, “Romania”, “Saint Barthélemy”, “Saint Martin”, “San Marino”, “Slovakia”, “Slovenia”, “Spain”, “Sweden” and “United Kingdom”.

Coming into Force

2 This Order comes into force on the day on which section 97 of the Canada–European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement Implementation Act, chapter 6 of the Statutes of Canada, 2017, comes into force, but if it is registered after that day, it comes into force on the day on which it is registered.
