Ships and vessels — repair, refits and conversions (including dry docking)

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has received a complaint (File No. PR-2018-057) from Autopos Marine Inc. d.b.a. AutoNav (AutoNav), of Port Moody, British Columbia, concerning a procurement (Solicitation No. F7049-180066/A) by the Department of Public Works and Government Services (PWGSC) on behalf of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans. The solicitation is for a replacement steering gear system for the Canadian Coast Guard Ship (CCGS) Amundsen. Pursuant to subsection 30.13(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Act and subsection 7(2) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, notice is hereby given that the Tribunal made a decision on January 24, 2019, to conduct an inquiry into the complaint.

AutoNav alleges that PWGSC did not have valid reasons to award the contract through limited tendering.

CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TRADE TRIBUNAL

ORDER

Notice is hereby given that the Canadian International Trade Tribunal issued an order (File No. PR-2018-043) on January 30, 2019, with respect to a complaint by Alion Science and Technology Corporation, of McLean, Virginia (United States), and Alion Science and Technology Canada Corporation, of Kanata, Ontario (Canada), concerning a procurement (Solicitation No. CSC-001) by the Department of Public Works and Government Services, through Irving Shipbuilding Inc., on behalf of the Department of National Defence. The solicitation was for the design of the Canadian Surface Combatant vessel and combat management system software support.

Pursuant to paragraph 10(a) of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal Procurement Inquiry Regulations, the Tribunal dismissed the complaint and terminated all proceedings relating thereto.

PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYMENT ACT

Permission and leave granted (Seale, James)

The Public Service Commission of Canada, pursuant to section 116 of the Public Service Employment Act, hereby gives notice that it has granted permission, pursuant to subsection 114(4) of the said Act, to James Seale, Director, Controls, Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, to seek nomination as a candidate, before and during the election period, and to be a candidate before the election period in the federal by-election in the electoral district of Outremont, Quebec. The date of the by-election is February 25, 2019.

The Public Service Commission of Canada, pursuant to subsection 114(5) of the said Act, has also granted a leave of absence without pay during the election period to be a candidate. This leave became effective at close of business on January 25, 2019.
