LETTERS PATENT OF CONTINUANCE

Notice is hereby given, in accordance with subsection 32(2) of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), that Alan CA Inc., an entity incorporated under the Ontario Business Corporations Act, intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions an application for the Minister of Finance to issue letters patent continuing the company under the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), as a life insurance company operating within the following classes of insurance: accident and sickness insurance and life insurance.

The company carries on business in Canada under the name of Alan CA Inc. and its head office is located in Toronto, Ontario. It is a subsidiary of Alan SA, an entity incorporated and formed under the laws of France.

Any person who objects to the proposed continuance may submit an objection in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, 255 Albert Street, 12th Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, on or before January 9, 2024.

MD PRIVATE TRUST COMPANY THE BANK OF NOVA SCOTIA TRUST COMPANY

LETTERS PATENT OF AMALGAMATION

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of section 233 of the Trust and Loan Companies Act (Canada), that MD Private Trust Company and The Bank of Nova Scotia Trust Company (together, the “Applicants”) intend to make a joint application to the Minister of Finance, on or after December 18, 2023, for letters patent of amalgamation continuing the Applicants as one company under the name “The Bank of Nova Scotia Trust Company” in English and “La Société de Fiducie Banque de Nouvelle-Écosse” in French. The head office of the amalgamated company would be located in Toronto, Ontario.

The effective date of the proposed amalgamation would be May 1, 2024, or any other date fixed by the letters patent of amalgamation.
