ENDURANCE SPECIALTY INSURANCE LTD.

APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A CANADIAN BRANCH

Notice is hereby given that Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd., an insurer incorporated under the laws of Bermuda, intends to file, under section 574 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions, on or after March 17, 2024, an application for an order approving the insuring in Canada of risks, under the English name “Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd.” and the French name “Assurances spécialisées Endurance ltée”, within the classes of property, liability, boiler and machinery, fidelity, automobile, marine, surety, and aircraft.

The head office of Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd. is located in Hamilton, Bermuda, and its Canadian chief agency will be located in Toronto, Ontario. Endurance Specialty Insurance Ltd.’s ultimate corporate parent, named Sompo Holdings, Inc., is a company incorporated under the laws of Japan.

KOHO FINANCIAL INC.

APPLICATION TO ESTABLISH A BANK

Notice is hereby given, pursuant to subsection 25(2) of the Bank Act, that KOHO Financial Inc., incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act, with its head office in Vancouver, British Columbia, intends to file with the Superintendent of Financial Institutions an application for the Minister of Finance to issue letters patent incorporating a Schedule I bank pursuant to the Bank Act under the name “KOHO Bank” in English and “Banque KOHO” in French, to carry on the business of banking in Canada. The bank will provide deposit and lending products and services (e.g. savings accounts, prepaid cards, and retail loans) to Canadian residents.

Any person who objects to the issuance of these letters patent may submit their objections in writing to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), 255 Albert Street, 12th Floor, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2 or by emailing OSFI at approvals-approbations@osfi-bsif.gc.ca, on or before April 18, 2024.

Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that letters patent will be issued to incorporate the proposed bank. The granting of the let-ters patent will be dependent upon the normal Bank Act application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.
