ALLIANZ LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY OF NORTH AMERICA
RELEASE OF ASSETS
Pursuant to section 651 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) [the “Act”], notice is hereby given that Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America (“Allianz”) intends to apply to the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada) on or after July 15, 2024, for an order authorizing the release of the assets that it maintains in Canada in accordance with the Act.
Any policyholder or creditor in respect of Allianz’s insurance business in Canada opposing that release is invited to file an opposition by mail to the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (Canada), Regulatory Affairs Directorate, 255 Albert Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0H2, or by email at approvals-approbations@osfi-bsif.gc.ca, on or before July 15, 2024.

GREEN SHIELD CANADA
ASSUMPTION REINSURANCE AGREEMENT
Notice is hereby given that Green Shield Canada (“GSC”) intends to make an application to the Minister of Finance (Canada) [the “Minister”] pursuant to subsection 254(3) of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada) on or after July 16, 2024, for approval to reinsure, on an assumption basis, substantially all of the liabilities of GSC with Green Shield Canada Insurance (“GSCI”).
A copy of the proposed assumption reinsurance agreement will be made available for inspection by the policyholders of GSC during regular business hours at the offices of GSC, located at 8677 Anchor Drive, P.O. Box 1606, Windsor, Ontario N9A 6W1, for a 30-day period after the date of publication of this notice. Any policyholder may request a copy of the assumption reinsurance agreement by writing to GSC to the attention of the Corporate Secretary at the above address.
Note: GSCI has not received an order approving the commencement and carrying on of business (an “Order”) from the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (the “Superintendent”). Any approval of the Minister in respect of the assumption reinsurance transaction described above would be conditional on GSCI first obtaining an Order. The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that an Order will be made in respect of GSCI or that the Minister will approve the application referred to above. The making of an Order and granting of the approval are dependent upon normal Insurance Companies Act (Canada) review processes, and the discretion of the Minister and/or the Superintendent (as the case may be).

MD LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY SCOTIA LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY
LETTERS PATENT OF AMALGAMATION
Notice is hereby given, pursuant to the provisions of section 250 of the Insurance Companies Act (Canada), that MD Life Insurance Company and Scotia Life Insurance Company (together, the “Applicants”) intend to make a joint application to the Minister of Finance, on or after July 1, 2024, for letters patent of amalgamation continuing the Applicants as one company under the name “MD Life Insurance Company” in English and “Société d’Assurance Vie MD” in French. The head office of the amalgamated company would be located in Toronto, Ontario.
The effective date of the proposed amalgamation would be November 1, 2024, or any other date fixed by the letters patent of amalgamation.
Note: The publication of this notice should not be construed as evidence that letters patent will be issued. The granting of the letters patent will be dependent upon the normal Insurance Companies Act (Canada) application review process and the discretion of the Minister of Finance.
